Day Ninety One - Wool Challenge

Image
Black and blue today, but it was a good day.

Day Ninety - Wool Challenge

Morning chores in the cold. But all the garbage left the house! Only ten days left of wearing the black dress everyday.  After that I'll continue with wearing wool until the end of December,  however, I won't wear the black dress every day.

I wore my dress under my collared shirt this morning for church.  One thing I have been amazed at during the last three months is that I have not gotten any holes in my Wool& dress or leggings. I have a cat who has put holes in every wool sweater I own, but the dress and leggings have withstood the cat. And I am not the most graceful, so many of my clothes end up with small holes or things. This dress and leggings, nothing. It's absolutely amazing.

We took pictures for our holiday cards today! These are some which won't be on our cards. I was wearing my Wool& dress.

Today we went to a car museum where they were having a model train exhibit. We also saw some awesome motorcycles and electric vehicles.  And a model Twinkie van. A very nerd day.

No collar today, but all black. My Wool& Cora dress and a black Smartwool long sleeved shirt. It's too chilly for the dress alone.

Day Eight Three - Wool Challenge

Lots of housework today. Moving makes a mess!

Day Eighty Two - Wool Challenge

First Sunday! It was very good. I'm not used to three services in a morning, but I greatly enjoyed it.

Friday! No collar today, but it's been a full first week of work at St. Peter's. My Thanksgiving cactus is starting to do its thing, despite moving and being chewed on by something.

Day Seventy Nine - Wool Challenge

Today was my first Thursday Eucharist service at St. Peter's.  With my collar and vestments, I also had on my Wool& dress.  It has actually turned out to be a warm day.

My Wool& dress is a great base layer for a wool skirt and shirt with my clericals.

Day Seventy Seven - Wool Challenge

Day Seventy Seven of the Wool Challenge and Day One of my new ministry at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Morristown, NJ. I'm looking forward to this new adventure with God.

Day Seventy Six - Wool Challenge

Another busy day of setting up our home. We finally have internet!

Day Seventy Five - Wool Challenge

Image
Three quarters of the way through the 100 days. It's been a rough day. The unpacking has gone well, but I fell over on my bike and got some wicked bruises and then my toothbrush fell in the toilet. Hopefully the rest of the day will go better!

Day Seventy Four - Wool Challenge

In the last week we have packed and unpacked two different U-Haul trucks and driven across Pennsylvania and New Jersey four times. My Wool& dress has been with me every step of the way. We said goodbye to friends and family and said hello to new friends and other family. We have been tired, sore, sweaty, stinky, excited, thrilled, creative, and content. We have gotten our new home almost set up... and we are both looking forward to starting new jobs in the next week or so. New adventures await us in Morristown!

Last day of moving trucks. Last day in Franklin. Not my last day in my Wool& dress!!

Car ride approved! A day of riding in the car for more moving shenanigans.  Thank you to all veterans!

Day Seventy One - Wool Challenge

A shower is always good. My dress got a shower too. We are both clean and ready to keep going.

Day Seventy - Wool Challenge

More errands, more unpacking.  Trying to figure out what curtains we need. and if my husband has a job, and if the cat's coop is cat-proof.  Who knows where this will go!?

Day Sixty Nine - Wool Challenge

A day of random move in errands. How could we have forgotten the hand soap?!?

Day Sixty Eight - Wool Challenge

New home day! Moving in round 1 was a long day, but my Wool& dress went through many layer changes.

Wearing wool for our See You Later party! A new adventure coming soon.

Day Sixty Six - Wool Challenge

My black Cora dress is my base layer today. It's chilly here in NWPA and I wore the wool skirt and pink wool top as well. I'm as warm as a sheep!

Feeling pink and black today. Hopefully it will be a good day.

The Lightmaker's Manifesto Book Review

Image
The Lightmaker's Manifesto isn't a self-help book, it is a finding-your-passion book. It is, and isn't, an easy read. Its a book that requires two, TWO, bookmarks. One for the chapters and another for the exercises in the back of the book. It is a book that could change your life for the better, if you let it.  Karen Walrond's book, The Lightmaker's Manifesto is a compelling story of a woman trying to find her way to claiming the title activist. She shares parts of her journey with the reality of their curves and lifts up the profound meaning those curves have given her. Her writing style allows her journey to walk with you through the book. The writing shows the positive psychology she talks about. You can tell she tries to practice what she is writing. The exercises are simple but lead to real depth. I read this book at a time in my life when big changes were causing me to lose some of my sense of light. We are so often tossed by the changes and chances of this wo

Today I get to debut my new wool skirt!  I have my Wool& dress underneath, providing the top for my skirt.  I have a feeling this will be quite warm! Yesterday, I gave blood in my Wool& dress. One pint can help three people!

Day Sixty Two - Wool Challenge

I am very glad that my wool challenge coincides with COPA26. We all need to be examining our lives to better live in relationship with creation.
