Air Conditioning

It finally got warm enough in north west Pennsylvania. My husband and I put in the first of our two room air conditioners last night. (I also ended up destroying the end of my thumb in the process... but that's another story.) The Rectory we live in does not have central air conditioning and we have found for the most part we don't really need it. The two rooms we desire cooler temperatures in during the summer are the bedroom (to sleep!) and the living room (we have fake velvet couches (which cause static all year long)).  In looking to buy these two room air conditioners, I've learned that air conditioning uses somewhere between 5-10% of all electricity. 50 Acts of Green: Day Thirty Four - Programmable Thermostats

One of the many things which changes rapidly is our weather. Everywhere I have lived people have said some variation of the following, "if you don't like the weather, wait five minutes, it will change." As the weather and long term climates outside of our houses change (and not always for the better!) we are starting to realize we have made as much of an impact on our environment as it makes on us.  One of the many things we can do to help our impact on our weather is to change our indoor weather. Our indoor hea...

Monday - Aware

The clouds were very fluffy today Hovering high above the sleepers below Of the two million in this bustling city How many noticed the perfect shape Of today's cotton clouds? My thoughts were very positive today Bouncy excited scheming fellows Urging me into action unplanned but joyful  Did you take note to the tune and melody Playing in your head? We think in terms of space and transparency Between you and me there is nothing But air - zooming molecules changing pattern What else lies unseen between the seconds of the clock Were you aware?
